Isolde supports young drivers 29th March 2006 In her role as Toyota brand ambassador, Isolde supports the young racing drivers of the Toyota Yaris Cup. Prior to the season opener on 23 rd April, Isolde will prepare the young guns for the forthcoming season in a workshop. More than 30 drivers will participate in this year's Toyota Yaris Cup. The successful brand competition that is held as part of the "Beru Top Ten" is well known for the promotion of junior talents. Given a letter of consent by their parents, the drivers are able to gather basic experience in motor sports starting at age 16. Next to its commitment on the race track, Toyota strongly focuses on a wide range of other necessary skills. For this reason, an annual pre-season workshop takes place for the Yaris Cup participants. From 31 st March to 2 nd April, Isolde will be on site in Dölzig ( Germany) to give the drivers advice and support. "I am glad to work with the Yaris Cup participants. I'm looking forward to pass my experiences on. It is essential for me to get to know the various new faces of the juniors," the rally driver says. The participants' schedule consists of courses about fitness, exposure to the media, sports law and technology. To avoid missing out the practical exercises, a kart race is to be staged as well as a visit to the AMI fair in Leipzig ( Germany). A real racing driver can never become successful, unless he is able to apply what he has learned at the wheel of his car. Therefore, the drivers will receive a chance to show their skills on the first official testing day at Oschersleben, on Monday, 3 rd April. Three weeks later, on 22 nd and 23 rd April, the first two rounds of the Toyota Yaris Cup will take place. |
