Isolde at Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon 3rd July 2006 During the Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon, Isolde took place in the passenger seat once more – contrary to her initial plans. Together with Dr. Dietrich Hartmann, she managed to secure 12 th place in the classification. Surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Montafon region, Isolde competed in the Silvretta Classic Rallye from Thursday to Saturday. As she had already done during the Sechsaemterland Classic in Wunsiedel, Isolde trusted in the driving skills of Hartmann, head of public relations at Toyota Germany. For this rallye, both drivers put their faith into the performance of the Toyota 2000 GT once more. In "You Only Live Twice", James Bond had already been able to enjoy driving this classic car. For Isolde, the experience with the Toyota 2000 GT was a remarkable event: "It is a real highlight to drive with this car since there simply aren't that many classic Toyota cars. It certainly gave me a lot of pleasure." The enjoyable experience was, however, also due to the fact that the 500-kilometre-long historic rallye led through breath-taking landscapes. For the ninth time, automobile classics built before 1971, as well as a selection of newer cars built from 1972 to 1988, completed the stages through the mountain world of the Montafon, the Alp region of Bludenz, the Bregenz forest and the Arlberg mountain. While the duo was listed in 65 th place of the overall classification following day one, Isolde and Dr. Dietrich Hartmann managed to reach tenth place on the second day of the rallye. On day three, the race partners finally improved to 48 th place. In the overall classification, the duo was able to achieve 12 th position in category 4, against a competition of over 55 drivers. "Overall, it was a demanding rallye in wonderful surroundings. I had an extremely enjoyable time," Isolde summarised the three-day rallye event. |
