Successful appearance at Peiting

21st March 2007

This weekend, Isolde Holderied was involved in the Rally Oberland. Still, she wasn’t one of the drivers. As driver contact person, she contributed to the rally’s successful organisation.

“I’m really happy,” said Isolde when all the competitors had crossed the finish line. “Everything worked flawlessly. We had no organisation problems whatsoever and the drivers were particularly happy with the track selection for the special stages.”

In spite of partially strong winds, the competitors hadn’t to cope with the snow that had hampered them in the event’s 2006 edition. And the motor racing enthusiasts on site didn’t allow the cold weather to make an impact on their great mood. After all, they had the chance of witnessing a thrilling rally. Porsche 911 GTR driver Anton Werner and Hermann Gassner, racing a Mitsubishi Lancer, were involved in an enthralling battle, with Werner and his co-driver, Ralph Edelmann, claiming victory in the end.

Isolde also attentively followed the rally action, however, she also kept an eye on her mobile phone to be available for the drivers and the organisation at any time. “In the case of difficulties, I had been there to mediate between organisation and drivers. Fortunately, these difficulties didn’t happen,” says Isolde. “Altogether, the rally was big fun. Particularly, as it was held in my homeland.”
