Isolde visits Goodwood Festival of Speed 27th June 2007 Last weekend, Isolde Holderied attended the Festival of Speed in Goodwood. The event already took place for the 15th time this year and allowed visitors to experience the fascination of motorsports once more from June 22nd to 24th. On Saturday, Isolde was also impressed by the special atmosphere in Goodwood. "It really was sensational," said Isolde, who had travelled to Goodwood for the very first time. "When I arrived here I could already smell the petrol and hear the sounds of all the different cars. Obviously, I was particularly interested in the rallye cars." Visitors to the festival experienced an exciting mix of Formula One cars, historic rallye vehicles and dragsters. Each year the Earl of March hosts the event, which takes place on the area of his estate and meanwhile attracts approximately 150.000 visitors annually. The automotive treasures drive on a mountain race track, while a special forest course is prepared for the rallye cars. This year, famous personalities from the world of racing such as Damon Hill, Jochen Mass, rallye driverr Chris Atkinson, WTCC driver Andy Priaulx and Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher will compete in the Goodwood challenge, which is a real joy to attend for all racing drivers at the same time. Isolde had an additional reason to celebrate. As the brand ambassador to Toyota, she was particularly happy about the 50-year anniversary of Toyota in motor sports. In front of the impressive Goodwood House an equally remarkable sculpture was unveiled, which showed, among other things, a Formula One car, a historic rallye vehicle, and a Toyota Group C sports car to represent some of the successes of the Japanese car manufacturer in motor sports history. "Following my visit to Goodwood, I am really fascinated with the event," Isolde summarised her impressions. "This event has so much style and class. You don't have the opportunity to see so many historic and modern race cars anywhere else. I look forward to coming back." |
